For the girls weekend I'm taking Friday off so we can drive up to Palm Springs in the afternoon before traffic gets bad - either the 11:00 or 2:20 flights would work. The drive is at least 2 hours without traffic so we'd have to leave before 1pm on Sunday to make sure you are at the airport in time for the 5:40 flight. That seems doable, but the 8:45 flight may be a bit safer ... if you don't mind getting home so late. Either way works for me - just send me the details when you book your flight.
